Some homes are worthy of getting a place in coffee table books. Each item is hand-picked, gorgeous and neatly showcased. We admire them from afar and also drool over them but they we feel conscious and overwhelmed by their opulence and grandeur.
Then there are homes that look well-lived and welcoming. You do not have to think twice before plonking on the sofa or sinking into the comfortable bed. They look inviting but not lousy or shabby. They also reflect the owner's love and passion for decorating with eclectic things minus the opulence. Here are some such spaces....
Home of Anahata Katkin
Anahata is a truely gifted person and has been influenced by different culture. Her parents had visited India and set up a meditation centre Ananda Marga where they taught meditattion. This was probably the beginning of her love affair with India. But she is a designers and entreprenuer and her home reflects a charm.
Her name has an Indian origin. Anahata (Sanskrit: अनाहत, Anāhata) means unhurt, unstruck and unbeaten. The word Ananhata usually is associated with a calm serene sound, void of violence. It is the fourth primary chakra according to the Hindu Yogic and Tantric (Shakta) traditions.

The bedroom is my favourite space in the house. So many patterns-- on the floor, on the blanket, cushions, curtains, pouf and the bedside cabinet. Very soul-enriching but understated elegance.
She has assimilated a global taste and passion for art is evident in every corner home. But her product designs are exuding strong Indian motifs and symbols.

Emma's bedroom
Another bedroom (of Emma @ marionhousebook) that I fell in love with today is the following one. Probably the Indian effect in the kantha embroidered bedspread got me! But the overall effect with Moroccan pillows paired with kilim pillows, baskets and cane laundry baskets was very appealing.
