Pillow Talk

Thomas Paul
Soft, sumptuous pillows remind us all of a lazy afternoon when it is pouring hard outside and the sky is overcast with dark clouds.

And the effect really multiplies when you are staying next to the sea and the roaring waves are breaking against your boundary wall amidst pounding rains. Have you ever watched the rain pouring over the sea? Try to catch the image sometime... you will be mesmerised!!

By the way, this post is not about rains but pillows. More precisely, the pillow cover designs. I am sharing some designs that I love....

Cabinet Post

Hi friends! I have been busy with my writing assignments, so missed my blog post.

This week I will tell you about something close to my heart. Don't get me wrong by the title. No, I am not talking about the Parliament or the Ministers. But about a versatile piece of furniture that is both a popular home decoration and utility piece -- the cabinets.  Some are exquisite with intricate inlay work, some very basic and some innovative. Have your pick and elevate it into an exquisite piece with imaginations and graceful sensibilities.

Whether in living room, bedroom, foyer or study-- these pieces are sure to raise the decor of any space a few notches higher and store your knick-knacks as well.

Romancing the woods

In this age of plywood and particle boards, solid wood furniture hold a special place of their own. Remember those wooden cupboards, dressers and beds of your grandparents? Yes, they were heavy and occupied a lot of space-- but each of them had a character of its own.

Have a look at these individually handcrafted furniture at Lombok and revisit the bygone eras.....

These pieces are manufactured in Lombok -- an island in Indonesia. Popular among both domestic and international tourists, Lombok is often termed as “an unspoiled Bali,” or “Bali’s sister island.”

Sweet Dreams

They entertain us. They grab our eyeballs wherever they go. We try to emulate them. We follow them. They invade various realms of our lives through magazines, televisions and the internet. And we encroach upon their privacy in public.

But most of the time, they are out of the reach of the common man. They are designers, architects, artists ....-- all enjoying celebrity status in their own fields.

Most of the times, they are braving the flashlights, smiling at shutterbugs, setting trends.....

But away from the humdrum, how do these stars spend their quiet moments?
